On the twelfth day of Christmas my daddy drew for me twelve plumbers plumbing... eleven hippos hiking, ten toads a-sweeping, nine ponies prancing, eight beavers building, seven snakes a-swinging, six bees flambe-ing, five moldy beans, four falling nerds, three fat frogs, two purple dogs, and an elephant about to sneeze.
Seven years ago I started drawing sketches for my daughter's school lunchbox. My youngest has now entered 1st grade and my daily "Sketches for Nora" has become "Sketches for Nora and Alfred." Twice the daily drawings, twice the illustrationy goodness, same great price... FREE!

Zealous Zonure
I was challenged by a friend to choose an animal other than a zebra for the letter "Z"- this little lizard is called a zonure- it's his turn to be in the spotlight.

U- Underwear wearing Umbrellabird
This was a difficult one only because there is not a lot of "U" animals. The underwear part was all my wife's idea. The umbrellabird is a pretty ridiculous looking bird- so why not take it a step further?

Q- Quieting Quail
Not a lot of choices- recognizable for a 7 year old, at least- and it's hard to draw "quiet" so "quieting" will have to do. We are definitely approaching the more difficult end of the alphabet though I think.

L- Licking Llama
Inspired by my 2 year old who pronounces "L's" like "Y's." At lunch we were trying to get him to say "Lucky Lucy Likes Licking Lemon Lime Llamas." It sounds pretty funny to hear Alfred say "Yucky Yucy Yikes Yicking Yemon Yime Yamas."
